Information for New Partners
Criteria
Eligible organizations are those that support multiple use concepts of managed native lands and whose mission is to support the conservation and stewardship of these lands.
Projects of concern to organizations should have regional (major land resource area) or statewide applicability and the efforts should be targeted to education.
Organizations should have staff and/or members dedicated to working on issues or projects involving the conservation and stewardship of managed native lands.
Groups which serve as local units of a state organization would be expected to participate in TNLA through their organization's state level office.
Organizations should support the conservation and stewardship of managed native lands in their programs, statements and practices.
Organizations should have been in existence long enough (at least several years) to have established a track record consistent with the common interest of partner organizations.
Organizations must agree to abide by the principles and the rules of engagement of TNLA
Procedures
Organizations that wish to join TNLA must provide sufficient information about their organizations to allow partner organizations to determine the organizations suitability as noted by, but not limited to the Criteria.
Information must be provided to the Chair.
The Chair will forward information provided by the organization to all partner organizations.
Partner organizations will vote on admitting new organizations at the annual meeting.
Organizations shall be admitted to TNLA if 75% of voting partner organizations vote in favor of admission.
Organizations shall accept the invitation to join TNLA by notifying the Chair within 90 days or the invitation shall be withdrawn.
Membership
Comprised of 1 to 2 representatives from each partner organization.
Term is decision of each partner organization.
Each partner organization has one vote for issues before the Steering Committee.
