Principles

  1. Develop an informal alliance, process/structure with objectives and agenda.
  2. Build trust and respect among allied organizations.
  3. Be a potent force advocating management that promotes the health and sustainability of native lands.
  4. Positions are taken by allied organization and not in the name of TNLA
  5. We believe native lands can be used for:
    1. Managed grazing
    2. Appropriate recreation
    3. Responsible energy production
    4. Wildlife habitat
    5. Maintaining biodiversity
    6. Benefiting ground and surface water resources
    7. Sustainable forestry
  6. Share information in an effective and immediate way (e.g. list serve, web site):
    1. Develop an outreach strategy
    2. Develop unified message and stay focused
      1. Internal (allied organizations)
      2. External (general public and landowners)
  7. Work together where we agree:
    1. Agree to disagree and respect differences,
    2. Extol and recognize accomplishments of allied organizations
    3. Coordinate efforts on special issues - some groups develop the issues, some groups implement the strategy.
  8. Issue leaders emerge and coordinate communication between allied organizations.
